Reader of the month:-Christina Graham “That Book Place”

It’s lovely to have Christina Graham from ‘That Book Place” as reader of the month. Books are her life and I agree with her completely when she says that books and book stores will always have a place in the community. Christina says real book people love the browsing experience. They go into a dedicated book area and scour the shelves and handle the books. They like the smell and the feel of a physical book. Sometimes they are lucky enough to find a little gem of a book, something they wouldn’t normally read. Reading is such a beautiful gift to have in life.

1) I don’t like having sticky hands

Tell us about your wonderful book store:

‘That Book Place’ book store is a family owned business.We are an Independently owned which give us the freedom to stock and order exactly what our customers want and need. We have a wide range of books from most genres and if it isn’t here we will find it for you. Currently we have about 17,000 books in stock and it grows every day.

That Book Place opened on the 2nd of November 2010 and in this short time we have been able to build an excellent customer base, win two business awards, provide work experience students with a place to gain some retail skills, and have established ourselves as a go to destination when in our area. Proud winners of the Logan Country Business and Community Award for Best Emerging Business, and the Logan West Leader Business Achiever Awards for New Business of the Year.

Our vision:
When we decided to open a bookshop many thought we were crazy, however our vision was to provide our book loving community with a beautiful and unique shopping experience where they could go to enjoy browsing and looking through books. Our shops décor is turn of the 19thcentury and gives you a sense of traveling back in time when things were slower, quieter and more friendly. From our beautiful bay stain glass windows, down to the owl guarding our door That Book Place sets out to provide our customers not only with books but a beautiful retail experience. Our hard work has been rewarded with two business awards in our first year of opening from the Logan Country Chamber of Commerce – Best Emerging Business of the Year and Logan West Leaders Best New Business in the Logan District. We are also located next to an award winning Café to finish off your experience with a lovely coffee and cake.
