Thusday Art-Day celebrates the white Arabian horse

Today for Thursday Art-Day we celebrate the white Arabian horse…
‘…Behold the white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him; and he went forth conquering…’ (four horses of the Apocalypse)

Excerpt from ‘Tails Carried High’
‘…A steel grey stallion exploded from the bush before skidding to a halt. He sniffed the air, the spirit of his ancestors flashing from his eyes. He searched the paddock for Sonja, rising on hind legs and coming back to earth with a defiant toss of his head, stamping his forelegs. His mane and tails were curtains of silver, lifting in the light breeze as his movement slowed. It was as though he had been switched to slow motion. Recognising Sonja, he launched himself into the air, pushing forward from powerful hind limbs, his muscular frame reminding Jessikah of the highest wave in the ocean, surging forward, powerful, yet in perfect control. her eyes captured a snapshot of splendour; she had forgotten to draw a breath. When her breath emptied in a long sigh, she felt an immediate slamming in the region of her heart. her hand slid to the base of her throat in an attempt to swallow. She was afraid to take her gaze from the horse in case she was dreaming and he disappeared..
the stallion moved towards them in one effortless motion. trotting as lightly as a bird flies the skies. His strength and beauty were riveting and , in and epiphany, Jessikah understood why people covet the possessions of others and why they did dreadful things to acquire their heart’s desire.
She knew she had to have this horse.’

Four of the paintings are from the PVA  collection. We have the pleasure of  enjoying them and many others every day. The other painting Thou shall fly without Wings by Willa Frayser  is one I would love to have in the PVA collection – it is so full of energy and questioning.
All five painting show different styles and so much talent. I hope my visitors enjoy the beauty of the white Arabian horse…
