ARABIAN SHOWCASE AT EQUITANA

with No Comments

The Pure Bred Arabian Horse begins a saga with no recorded beginning – as legend would have, he is born of the south wind – as if he has always been there. You find him etched into the sandstone of the temples of ancient Egypt, extolling his glorious victories, which are a testament to his courage, loyalty and swiftness. The purebred Arabian has a heritage like no other. And as the south wind blows the desert sands across the ages, the tales in each grain praise a horse used for hunting lions, coursing in his chariot, being swifter than the wind and a protector of man…

Arabian horses attired in flamboyant and beautifully decorated costumes often at a full gallop can literally take the spectators breath away.

The Pure Arabian Show will commence for stallions and colts from 10.30 am, mares, fillies and geldings will follow – There are six classes show casing the Arabian horse in hand. The viewing public will get to be the judges of each class. Voting will be by telephone or SMS. This type of judging will be a first for Australia and everyone is invited to take part and vote for their choice. The results will be known within minutes.

In the Regupol Stadium, there will be a series of Arabian horse demonstrations. These demonstrations will showcase the versatility, intelligence and train-ability of the Pure Arabian horse. As the oldest recorded breed of horse in history the Pure Arabian horse excels in almost every discipline that they are trained for, this includes endurance racing over 100 km, sprint racing, led halter classes, performance, show hack and parade costume classes.

Everyone is very welcome and even encouraged to be part of this exciting and innovative Arabian Horse Showcase. The showcase is a perfect opportunity to ‘grasp a handful of the south wind’ and learn about this unique breed.
