“Homeward Bound’ for Thursday Art Day

with No Comments
For Thursday Art day I’m sharing “Homeward Bound” one of Willa Fraysers  www.willafrayserstudio.com lastest works.
When Willa asked me to write a few words about the painting I was so thrilled I set it into a card design so it could be handed out to purchasers of the ‘Homeward Bound’ prints and the painting itself…

HOMEWARD BOUND
Draw a line to follow, the lesson now too late.
If only you had listened and learned to shut the gate.
Hoof beats lift soft clouds of dust, the shadows show the way,
a glimpse of recognition, a loud and welcome neigh.
Exhaustion set upon them, a vast and breathless plain,
at last heads down and walking the riders no more to gain.
Their minds set on tomorrow, relief does hath no sound,
the four are no more trouble all six are homeward bound.
