As an Arabian horse breeder I have to tell you Marion E. Altieri’s latest blog post is a must read at –  The Alpha Mare Speaks. Featuring an original quote by Her Royal Highness Princess Alia Bint Al Hussein of Jordan, who champions many causes but none more so than the promotion and the safety of the Arabian horse.

Dubai World Cup 2009: Beauty. Speed. Endurance. Heart. Americans, Meet the Arabian Horse.

The first equine-related piece I wrote for Saratoga Today newspaper, the cover page of a four-page pullout on the Dubai World Cup. I thought it was time that Arabians got some props: I still think so. (Please note the original quote by Her Royal Highness Princess Alia Bint Al Hussein of Jordan, an amazing, brilliant, kind woman who loves horses and all animals with her very being.)  The Dubai World Cup is the richest collection of races on Earth, and Americans who love horse racing should be glued to their TVs from the very first minute of the action….      …This race isn’t a “baby” race, a claimer or any other brand of less-than-challenging action.  This race is a mile-and-an eighth (2000 metres, approximately 10 furlongs). And this race is worth watching-if for no other reason than the fact that the horses, five years old and up-are Arabians.  http://equicurean.com/blog/?p=71.
