Horses, Nature and finding inner Peace

For me, horses and more importantly nature has the amazing ability to restore my sense of inner peace. Can you remember the last time you immersed yourself in the natural world away from the stress and pressure of your everyday life?
I’m very lucky to be able to do this every day. I think “unwind” is the description of the effect that my horses and nature has when I give it a chance. The pace of modern life, meetings, coping with difficult situations with clients, friends or family can easily get us all wound up. We call it stress – right?

Well, nature and my wonderful horses are the best antidote for stress. In fact, ever since I was a little girl just being near a horse is one of my all time favourite things to do. This is why, when Willa Frayser www.willafrayserstudio.com sent me these wonderful words I knew you all would enjoy them too …

When your day seems out of balance and so many things go wrong …
When people fight around you and the clock drags on so long …
When some folks act like children and fill you with remorse …
Go out into your pasture and wrap your arms around your horse.
His gentle breath enfolds you as… he watches with those eyes.
He may not have a PhD but he is, oh so wise!
His head rests on your shoulder… you hug him good and tight.
He puts your world in balance and makes it seem all right.
Your tears will soon stop flowing, the tension will be eased.
The nonsense has been lifted. You are quiet and at peace.
So when you need some balance from the stresses in your day,
The therapy you really need is out there eating hay!

    Dear Carmel
I’d like to send you two things. My song “Young Girls and Horses” and my other song “The Last of the Packhorse Bagmen” that is a companion to the lovely painting that you selected to accompany “Harry Dale the Drover”. Can you pls give me a postal address to enable these to be sent to you with my compliments. Keep up the great work.

How wonderful can people get. Sometimes I read words that someone has written, and I think, wow, how is it that this person knows what rests and stirs within me. May I say thank you so very much for sharing it is a “breath of serene bliss” both written and spoken.
