When you take the time to think about the winding paths of life, it becomes clear that there are people who come into our lives, then move out of them and if your lucky they return. This is exactly what’s happened with Gemma. She knew us fifteen years ago and recently visited.
There are no longer many horses at Pearsons View, which was certainly a shock for Gemma but we reminisced and she revisited the remaining six horses. She knew the older mares but fell under the spell of four year old Simri … As a poet she penned some lovely words about Simri and Sarah …
~ SIMRI ~
She moves
like the
Earth
and Wind
are for her alone –
She is Simri

FOR SARAH
Deep, dark soulful eyes
filled with a wisdom
beyond even so many moons.
Nostrils flare with the
distant, ancient memory
of the desert winds –
The whisper of your heritage.
Walking proudly, with your gentle sway;
The light irradiates against
the pearly shimmer of your so-white coat.
Your grace defys your age –
The only telling, the soft creases
now making home amongst the
folds of your velvety muzzle
and all knowing eyes;
and the sweet, spirited contentment of a life
well lived and loved

So true Willa. To see Gemma with the mares was very touching. It’s wonderful to know the horses have such an emotional effect on us all. Thanks so much. xo
