Creativity – the nature of success
Creativity is a part of everyone, and with this in mind the protagonist in my latest book makes a decision to use creativity and the healing of horses to assist in healing the human spirit. While her friends become a major part of her plan to eventually find their true selves and help others.
These days life keeps me constantly trying to figure out new and better ways to achieve my personal goals but one thing I do know is that creative people work at being satisfied with their achievements and all they accomplish in life. They invent, imagine, problem-solve, create, and communicate in fresh, new ways. These days with so many avenues to spread the creative word even business requires more creative thinkers.
“Every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist when you grow up.”-Pablo Picasso
More and more the world will need innovative scientists, engineers, medical researchers, technology and business entrepreneurs. These people will work hand in hand with artists, performers, writers and illustrators, designers, inventors, educators and parents. Those with the ability to “think outside the square” will lead and create the future.
“Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try” – Dr. Seuss
Creativity is also how well you can think for yourself and actually use your talent to separate you from everyone else. Often people see a problem and complain instead of solving it.
“Creativity is more than just being different. Anybody can plan weird; that’s easy. What’s hard is to be as simple as Bach. Making the simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity” – Charles Mingus
When I started writing my latest book back in 2016 I already understood the importance of creativity. To breed horses requires a deep desire to be creative, not only does the breeder need to be able to see the individual but they must understand the phenotype, pedigree, temperament and how this horse will be perceived by other breeders as well as understanding the state of the breeding industry. But creativity is also believing in what your doing and remaining as genuine after forty years as you were at four. The same goes for anything we wish to create and while we should know all the in’s and out’s of our creative pursuit, the simple learning experience is fun as you pursue something exciting and worthwhile.
“Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, the just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while” – Steve Jobs
When you allow your creativity to grow, you begin to live life, especially when you’re doing something you truly love. When you create something that excites and challenges your mind you inspire those around you. People are encouraged by others who love what they do, it’s infectious to be creative.
