For Thursday art-day we are celebrating ‘Valentines Day’ with this heart felt oil painting by Willa Frayser titled “Heart and Soul”
Two horses meeting, nuzzling together forming a perfect ‘heart’. For me the vivid green background takes my breath away and the two black and white horses sets the scene to perfection.
Personally I adore these colours so I decided to refresh my memory about what the colour green represents…
Green, is said to be Nature’s colour, restful, soothing, cheerful, and health-giving.
The Colour Psychology of Green
Green is a cool colour that symbolises nature and the natural world.
Green also represents tranquillity, good luck, health and jealousy.
Researchers have also found that green can improve reading ability.
Green has long been a symbol of fertility and was once the preferred colour choice for wedding gowns in the 15th century.
Green is often used in decorating for it’s calming effect.
Green is thought to relieve stress and to help heal.
