Colour and inspiration again…

Have you ever imagined life without colour?

Everywhere we look, at any time of the day we’re surround by the beauty of colour. Colours seem to have the power to define how our heart and eyes transmit the way we feel .

For this blog, I’ve collected several examples to show the importance and significance of colour in life. When you look at the photographs, it’s easy to see how colours give a new dimension to the images. With the kind permission of Amy Curran I’ve used her wonderful photographs as an example of how pictures appear when robbed of their colour. But what if our life was only in mono? Though Amy’s photographs are still wonderful in mono; when you give the images back their colour they instantly grab you and all of a sudden you know the exact story Amy wanted to share.

On an individual level, I cannot deny that colour affects my state of mind. Everything about colour carries strong messages into my subconscious.

What is your favourite colour? Why does colour hypnotise our senses, change our moods and generally affects our day to day life?.

Do you think we are so used to seeing colours that many of us take them for granted?

At some time each week I recite from my colour chart, from each colour I sweep away the bad feelings and replace them with the good feelings. I believe that the significance of colours can be associated with our emotions and different activities in life. There are a lots of different elements that can inspire us. I’m usually inspired by nature and by people and the way they relate to one another.

We should consider that one of the first books given to a child is usually one that assists with the discovery of the world through colours, because colours are so essential to our life, even a child seeing colour, relates to it. It’s said white symbolizes peace, red symbolizes both love and anger, yellow is for friendship, green implies jealousy. All colours are related to the way we feel and truly enhance our life journey.

Red – relates to our sense of belonging, our physical reality. It anchors our feelings and gives us a sense of grounded-ness.

Orange – expresses our most creative side, our relationship to others and our sexuality. It brings the feeling of expansion and aliveness.

Yellow – provides us with a sense of personal power. Like the Sun standing in its truth without compromising it and yet giving unconditionally to everyone.

Green – vibrates with our sense of Self-love & love for others. It is Life in its most essential form, Earth, Life, breathe, the low.

Blue – triggers our sense of communication. Our ability to share our truth and carry our message.

Indigo – expresses our dreams, our sense of imagination, our capacity to visualize.

Purple – gives us a sense of higher-consciousness. A sense of connectedness to a higher-realm. It vibrates with our deeper sense of relationship with the Divine.
